Hello everyone. I didn’t want to start a new thread for my question, since it’s about the same thing for me: which screed should we choose.

We have an offer for cement screed at €14.50 per m², Knauf FE Largo 50 Anhydrite for €17.70 per m², and then a supposedly special screed for heat pumps, Knauf FE Eco (Anhydrite) for €24.50 per m².

Does anyone have experience with the FE Eco? How are the prices generally? And which screed would you recommend? If more information is needed for a concrete statement, I’m happy to provide it.

Thanks for your help! Tobi

Prices gross or net? Cement screed is sufficient. Anhydrite screed can cover larger areas without expansion joints and dries somewhat faster (it is also the Eco). Without necessity or reasons, I would choose the cement screed.

Prices are net. We were just told that anhydrite screeds are particularly good for underfloor heating due to better heat transfer. Whether that is true, I cannot judge. The client also leans towards cement screed, mainly for cost reasons.

You need to master cement screed, otherwise you'll have problems when laying the floor. Otherwise, no matter what you do, you won't see it later.

The company was recommended to us by several other trades as a good screed installer. The contact so far has also been quite pleasant. Whether he can really lay the cement screed that well will probably only become clear afterwards... But it looks like the cement screed is sufficient and good for underfloor heating with a heat pump, so we will probably go with it.
