We thought so too once. :p A few years later, we had a house five meters away and a carport two meters away in front of the living room window. If it’s not a protected landscape area and the municipality exerts building pressure, I wouldn’t rely on that. We are currently very much involved with the topic of searching for a plot of land. Two new development areas are currently being opened up near us. I call them "lower" and "upper" - so you don’t get confused ;)
Plot A:
- quiet location
- all flat/level
- very nice "feeling" due to a small river and bike path
- generally cheaper price per square meter
- neighbors on all sides (see picture)
- uncertain due to sunlight exposure and possible shading?
Plot B:
- slight slope (additional costs due to leveling etc.)
- no neighbors behind and to the right
- unobstructable southwest view
- possibly smell / farming work because we lie directly next to the field
- possibly higher price per square meter
There are pros and cons for both plots.. we are really unsure. The location down below is very nice because it is flat and quiet. The feeling is very great. However, we are concerned about sunlight exposure because we fear we might get little sun due to the other houses. What do you think?

I just inserted it. Our main concern is that we are somewhat scarred from the city, where our apartment was totally dark back then. We definitely don’t want that. We fear that with A, we might get too little sun due to the orientation and the other houses. Is this problem even realistic or are we "overthinking" it?If you draw both plots aligned equally to the location as they are, also with access road, and upload it, someone could probably help you better ;)

Oops? One shouldn't mind... the whole area will then and again smell of manure...
