Hello,

I wanted to ask where is the best place to distribute the WLAN mesh system in a new building.

We have a basement, ground floor, first floor, and attic. The internet connection with the main router comes in the basement.

Where is the best place to distribute the mesh repeaters? One on each floor?

Which mesh system can you recommend for a stable WLAN?

Mesh in the sense of wireless mesh or are LAN connections available in the house, or how do you come to the term Mesh?

In new buildings, no mesh at all. That is a retrofit solution. Plan sufficient LAN connections at the ceilings and connect access points via POE. This way you get fast and stable WiFi.

Mesh because I only want 1 Wi-Fi access for the entire house and so that it is well covered everywhere

I have installed enough LAN cables in every room and would of course connect the individual Mesh routers/repeaters with LAN

I haven’t heard anything about the access points yet.

Do you screw the access points under the ceiling? Can you possibly also place them behind the lowboard or elsewhere?

Access Points do exactly what you want. They are connected to the LAN via cable and create a large WLAN. The devices are then handed over between the individual Access Points. In mesh or with repeaters, the cable connection of the Access Points is established via WLAN.

That has nothing to do with each other at all and you don't really need mesh here. Just Google mesh. The simplest solution, if you have a Fritzbox: buy a Fritz repeater, e.g. a 2400 model (these are not repeaters in the true sense). Each device then needs a power outlet and a LAN connection. Good solution: distribute Wi-Fi access points sensibly throughout the house. Devices from Ubiquiti are suitable for this, for example. Normal standard access points are intended for ceiling mounting, but there are also wall models in case ceiling connections have been overlooked. The investment here is higher than with the other option, but the installation is much cleaner.
