You are talking about lime cement - that is what our BU meant as well. However, our sanitary company always explicitly spoke of pure lime plaster. Does something like that exist? Or is it uncommon? I have read that lime cement plaster is not good because it cannot absorb water.

Actually, lime-cement plaster is used in wet rooms. There are also gypsum plasters that are approved for wet rooms.

It's not about the wet rooms, but about the living rooms - so an alternative to gypsum plaster

I just don’t understand this discussion here ....? What’s so bad about gypsum or lime-cement plaster (by the way, you can only recognize from the delivery note whether lime plaster or lime-cement plaster was used). Even very old oil paint absorbs about 3g of water per sqm .... People do breathe out a lot of water every day and there is also a lot of moisture generated inside the house, but you shouldn’t overdo it with the desire for maximum diffusion .... Let the controlled residential ventilation do the job

That reassures me a bit! I have to be completely honest and say that I still can't quite judge whether such statements ("Plaster is dead," "Lime breathes") are exaggerated, or if it is really that critical.

Statements of this kind will encounter you even more often; do you want to drive yourself crazy every time? If you are so easily unsettled, you should promptly bring an independent expert into the adventure of building a house. He will then show you the best compromise for you and your budget. You still have to decide alone, but you will be better able to distinguish between sense and nonsense. Rhenish greetings from on the road Building expert
