Dear Forianer,

I have planned standard interior doors only 197cm (frame clearance dimension) high and a room height on the ground floor of approximately 270cm clear height (minimum 265cm).
Currently, with a room height of 272cm, I have doors that are 222cm high (frame clearance dimension) and I think that looks good.
I can’t really imagine whether I will regret the 197cm height.
That’s why I thought of starting a collective thread here, preferably with photos.

What door heights (preferably frame clearance dimension, so that it is uniform and easier to measure) and room heights (clear RH, from top edge of finished floor) do you have?
Are you satisfied? If possible, how much extra did a larger height cost?

To be fair, I’ll start:
Object: 3-room condominium
Door height (frame clearance dimension): 222cm
Room height (LRH top edge finished floor): 272cm
Satisfaction: Satisfied
Extra cost: Was standard at the time.

We have standard doors 198x86 with a room height of 3m. The surcharge compared to 2.75m was about 2500eu and I recommend it to anyone who likes a spacious feeling.

If I were to build new, I would no longer choose the 198.5cm doors. Regardless of the ceiling height. The 211cm ones are almost the same price (max. 10-15% surcharge) and look more appropriate, especially with somewhat higher ceilings (in my opinion, better proportions).

: If I'm already paying such a high surcharge for a 3m room height, such tiny doors would be a deal-breaker.

"Such a high surcharge" "tiny" – that just shows how differently opinions can be. The height of the door was incredibly unimportant to me, I am 1.7m tall – for me every 2-meter-high door is tall enough. It is always a bit relative to consider.

Yep, but a 3m ceiling doesn't fit with that.
