Hello everyone

I have been following here for quite a while. It has given me one or two reminders, but I would say it still lacks the final touch. So first of all, here are the important facts: we want to build a Tuscany-style (solid construction) house 10m x 10.5m (140 m² living space) with a garage in northern Germany. It will be a Kfw 70 standard. Now I have been pondering for ages what would be the most sensible and effective for our area and us (2-person household (max. 4 in x years) and both employed). Up for debate is a - hot water solar system or a - solar system around 3KW with self-feeding with active ventilation and exhaust. What do you think would fit better? Do I have any flaws in my thinking?

Thanks already for your help

There is already a lot of information about active ventilation and exhaust systems here in the forum and generally on the internet. We will install one and know from colleagues who have one and never wanted to do without it again. We are building to KFW 55 standard, where this system as well as solar for hot water is mandatory. But note: A ventilation system causes follow-up costs if a wood stove is planned, and only recirculation air may be used in the kitchen, no exhaust air.

Hello,
Pondering won't bring much insight. A solid basic investigation is required here (performance, energy demand for heating and hot water).
Only when the numbers are calculated can different solutions be compared/evaluated.
A solar thermal system rarely appears as a favorite.
The combination of ground-source heat pump with or without photovoltaics in KfW 70 is quite common.

I'm currently stuck, solar thermal system is clear Solar Thermal System.

Energy demand, currently there are two of us and both are employed. We consume quite little and if at all, only after 4 pm. I would say it's difficult to determine that.

The values refer to the construction project. One surely does not want to build without knowing beforehand how high the future consumption costs will be. These depend on the building structure, the climate location, user behavior, and the respective system technology.
