I'll also throw the wood gasifier into the race. You make 2 cubic meters more wood and you have your place warm if it's properly insulated. You have work with it, but you'd have that with the wood stove too. In return, you save the gas heating.

If there is gas in the street, gas heating. If not, air/water heat pump. And preferably nothing on the roof at all. Just the annual costs for the chimney sweep already heat your place for two months. Unless you want to put in a lot more effort for much more money. Then four! (wood, gas, solar, battery) expensive, complex systems are just right. PS: You are dependent on electricity with every heating system.

For 6 Ster a chimney sweeping per year, that's 26€.
I simply doubt that

Yeah - we have two of those. And every few years, there’s also a "Feuerstättenschau". I end up paying nearly 100 euros a year. And that’s the cheap one!

Just checked: unfortunately, that is exactly what is legally required. So you won't get it much cheaper.

With us, the chimney sweep said he does it as needed. We burn a total of about 10 cubic meters of wood with two wood stoves per year. So he comes twice. I think with a wood gasifier burning 6 to 8 cubic meters, once is definitely enough. Well, it all depends again on the respective environmental parameters, as is often the case.
