What is cheaper often depends more on the GU/GÜ. How often do you read here that the surcharge for an air-water heat pump instead of a gas condensing boiler amounts to several thousand euros. Costs for a gas connection that is not needed already taken into account, etc.

According to my layman’s understanding, I would also think the air-water heat pump should be cheaper. But WT1987 still hoped in Post 20 for a payback within 7-10 years compared to the gas condensing boiler.

The figures in Post 22, however, seem to me rather optimistic, since the heating systems themselves were not considered at all. And a modulating air-water heat pump certainly costs more than a gas condensing boiler.

Well, anyone who builds with a general contractor and does not take care of the heating system contract, or cannot, has nothing to do with the principle. We've already established that a heat pump costs more than a boiler, but modulating heat pumps are no longer significantly more expensive nowadays. And again the same thing, you still need a chimney, gas connection, etc. for a boiler. Another thing is that - unfortunately - at least in my area, the cities rarely lay gas lines anymore, and with tanks, gas is already ruled out for many. Also, if you have photovoltaics, a heat pump makes even more sense. In the future, with better storage technology, this may be important. But as long as you have underfloor heating and place the boiler/laundry room properly, you can easily replace the heat generator.

For gas, you don’t need a chimney draft in the traditional sense, just a shaft - you will never be at 3,000 euros there. Even for the normal chimney draft, I didn’t pay 2000 euros...

Hi Sebastian,

that’s true. The "plastic tube" for a gas condensing boiler is not expensive.

However, if the BSFM insists on a skuberne: that costs over 3,000 euros. That’s what happened to me.

So: Definitely sometimes count on 3K in the worst case.

Best regards
Thorsten
