Well, then I have a few ideas:
Photovoltaics on an east-west roof with 22 degrees works great. You don’t have the peak power, but you get more hours of sunshine. If it’s not just about the price, choose solar roof tiles. They increase the value of the house—you can’t see that there is photovoltaic installed. Additionally, they are laid in parallel—at least with Autarq, which we have—and are insensitive to shading. Dormers, chimney, tree... no more performance killers. Plus hybrid inverters and battery storage.
A wood stove contributes to comfort (living comfort). There are countless designs available.
A lot can be done with the windows too. A combination of aluminum on the outside and wood on the inside increases the value. You can also discover a lot in the opening systems if you don’t focus on the euro.
With a high groundwater level, an ice storage heating system works. Certainly completely oversized but ecologically just great.
A high ceiling height creates living comfort—that is worth it for many.
