Where does one start when renovating?

Hello everyone,

we have bought a cabin and actually want to completely renovate it.
But which order makes sense?

The sloping ceilings are to be clad with drywall and then these, including the walls (partly), are to be newly plastered and then decorated with textured plaster.

The doors including the frames are to be replaced and the floor is to be fitted with country house floorboards (except for the tiled rooms).

Many thanks for your help.
Best regards
Dani :-)

Doors out
Drywall
Plastering
Roughcast
(Painting)
Frames
Flooring
Door leaves

Basically, generally always from top to bottom.

The frames can also be done earlier – it depends a bit on the plaster and how you want to design the transition.

Hi,

thank you very much for your reply.

Doesn't using the frames damage the plaster again?
Do you have to pay attention to anything regarding the frame width when plastering?

Best regards,
Dani :)

Normally you don't break anything there,

the frame is pushed into the recess from the front and back and then covers the edge.

It depends a bit on the plaster or the grain.

Should the frame be "plastered in" or should the frame later rest on the plaster.

Depending on the roughness and the desired appearance, the small holes that arise when setting it can also be retouched with acrylic before painting.
