Hello everyone. I have a question about wood treatment. I built a beautiful large corner bench with a table. The whole thing is set in a noble, brushed stainless steel construction. Now I have received completely contradictory recommendations from experts on wood surface protection, ranging from open-pore glaze to teak oil to wood sealant. The corner bench is located in a covered outdoor area. It is wild oak, 40mm thick, glued laminated timber, continuous lamellas. Water practically never comes into contact, and if it does, it is at most from spilled drinks, indirect splash water, or humidity in autumn / winter. The wood is still untreated, quite light, and looks great. What do you recommend for treatment? The protection should be durable but not ruin the wood grain (appearance), or darken/change it too much. However, it should be "tight" enough so that winter moisture cannot penetrate and warp the wood. I am totally uncertain about what is best. Oh yes, it should also not be a toxic bomb, after all, people eat at the table. Thanks for any tips. Regards RK
