Are Q3 and [Faservlies] alternatives? We were told that the thin [Faservlies] would replicate the uneven texture on Q2, so for a smooth wall one should apply Q3 putty and then have [Faservlies] applied over it.

The additional cost for Q3 is reasonable, about 16 EUR per sqm of living area for walls and ceilings at 2.70 m clear height (actually, one should have calculated the wall and ceiling areas, but I was too lazy for that).

PS: [Q4] is supposedly hardly offered anymore (is that true?)

The fleece does not make a wall smooth. On a normally plastered wall, you will still see the unevenness with fleece, especially in raking light. Anyone who wants to apply smooth fleece should also create or have Q3 created beforehand.

Correct. We also have completely smooth fleece on walls and ceilings.

Had to be prepared for Q3 beforehand

Q3 is fully plastered. If I wanted to plaster, I wouldn't sand with DIY machines, I would try to chip off excess material with the eaves. I would rather paint myself than plaster myself. It affects the tendons and is done quickly by a professional. Q2 is hardly paintable, not really recommended. It also depends a bit on how much body the paint has. If, for example, it is filled, it can also conceal small imperfections. I would only choose fleece on walls if the wall is supposed to be virgin again at some point. The primer is usually an acrylate. The fleece is synthetic fiber. The dispersion seals further, resulting in very dense walls.

Rotband (the ready-mixed plaster) shrinks a lot; it would be worth the effort to find out if Pufas is available somewhere, it is much better behaved.
