Hello everyone, please excuse me for not getting back to you sooner. In the past few days, we visited regional providers again, who build solidly, stone by stone. We were impressed by the verbal offers (written ones will follow). With hardly any significant longer completion time, up to 20 sqm more, and an attached solid garage, we have savings of up to 30,000 compared to the supraregional company from the model house park. This means that for now, the option of doing the work ourselves is off the table, as we simply don’t have the time, and I can fully understand the concerns expressed by friends regarding warranty.
We are now looking forward to the written offers and will surely decide on one of them then.
The decision for the bungalow was more or less taken out of our hands by the model house park, as we want to build in a village and a bungalow would more likely be approved there than an urban villa. The regional providers have actually said the opposite, since multi-story construction is more common locally. So maybe we will still achieve our original dream of an urban villa.
What surprised us now:
Regional builders are reluctant to build with air heat pumps but rely on gas combined with solar for hot water, as it is supposedly more cost-effective. Is that really the case?
Best regards
Sven
