Hello, what is the best material for heating, please? I have a wood stove and I can operate it with everything that is available. So what is best, pellets, wood, or briquettes? Everything is quite cheap at the moment, but I also think about the environment!

Hello,
in my opinion, pellets are the best heating material. Because they consist of compressed wood, their heating value is very high. Furthermore, wood is climate-neutral because only as much CO2 is released as the wood has absorbed during growth.

Hello,
with permission from the forestry office, you can also collect wood from the forest yourself. Of course, you are not allowed to cut down trees, but you may pick up anything that is already on the ground. This way, you get firewood and at the same time ensure the necessary fitness.

If you just get wood from the forest, it is not dry, and if you then light it, you will experience a shock. Because it will fill the whole place with smoke. You should only use dry wood if you want to heat with it!!

I also got some wood from the forest because I thought I could save some money. But it was just too wet, I couldn't get it to burn. That was a good thing because a friend told me I would have ruined my whole apartment with smoke.

So I always use beech as firewood. Beech has a high heating value and burns for a long time. In addition, it produces little soot and ash.
