*Sharing the HD card across multiple devices *iptv lists "preferably foreign TV channels *sky *Media Portal "movies, series, etc." *Recordings of TV broadcasts Whereas nowadays many TVs can also do this. I also use a Fire TV box with Kodi. Somehow everything that concerns the gray area.

Hmm... yeah, my TV can do all that except sharing the HD card and IPTV lists without VU+ as well, so there really aren't any more advantages... a few years ago it was different...

I used to have players like a Popcorn Hour, later a Dune Player. But I don't need that anymore; the NAS has been enhanced with Plex, and any Chromecast, Amazon Stick, etc. serves as a player; with newer TVs, this certainly works directly (or with my current devices via DLNA, but that's inconvenient).

I'm also not very keen on external TV boxes. They cost quite a bit of money, and things like recordings have never interested me. Especially since the TV program itself is so bad that the TVs at our place are rarely used for watching TV, but as a display for streaming. The keyword "gray area" can of course be an argument, but if you're already moving in this "gray area," you can get all the content from the net anyway. And I don't really need RTL2 in HD either.

This is how it looks... I am always amazed every time that people feel the need to point out that every TV needs at least two cables to watch one channel and record another... I think the last time I recorded something was sometime in 1998

Why does a satellite system need high voltage?

I wanted an additional high-voltage socket in the fuse box, because you never know what you might need it for later.
