What garden fence height would you recommend?

I would choose a fence with a height of 180 cm on the terrace. 3 m depth so that you have a certain privacy when sitting on the terrace. Almost everyone here has done it like this in our new development area. From 3 m depth, you can then lower the fence height.

We also have 180 cm at the terrace, the entire depth across, after that it continues lower. At the terrace, I would also make it that high, most people can still look over more than 160 cm :)

Hello!

180 cm and then with privacy strips too?

"Prisoner No. 2486 and No. 7486, line up for yard time!"

Sorry, that looks so awful! You can make a 2 m high privacy screen directly on the neighbor’s terrace, ok. but otherwise 100 -120cm fence height. And behind the fence a bed with bushes, bamboo, low fruit trees, sea buckthorn... whatever.

If you also want the terrace to be completely shielded from view, I would simply put a second row of beds with bushes etc. in front of the terrace. With 20 m length of the garden, there is enough space for that.

Best regards,
Andreas

"Flowers" is quite a broad term. Mulleins grow over 2 meters tall, and if you sow them densely enough, they provide good privacy screening. But I think the main problem with the OP is that he doesn't really know what he wants. Hedge, flower hedge, fence, prison fence?
A fence at 1.60 meters is lower than the eye level of most people. Therefore, it is unsuitable as a privacy screen.

Between our terraces there is a stone wall 2m high, then there should be a fence continuing.

For me, the fence is also about preventing the neighbors from always chatting with me when I am in the garden.

How high would you make it after the terrace? 1m is definitely way too low.

We also have a dog; the fence should be high enough so that he couldn't jump over it.

Are you sure that a semi-detached house is the right choice for you and that you shouldn't rather take a 2000sqm plot at [AdW]?

If you don't want to be bothered, just talk to the neighbor about it. That's why I wouldn't build a prison yard.
