I think it also depends on the quality of the piece of furniture. My 6-year-old Microfaster couch (I somehow forgot to mention it above) is already quite worn, and not all stains and dirt come out. Also, cat hair is annoying (our cats have very, very fine hair), it cannot be vacuumed off but has to be brushed out with special equipment. But at least: reupholstering is significantly cheaper than with leather.

I can only recommend a leather sofa, especially if you have small children. When I think about how many times my 5-month-old daughter has already spit all over the sofa... with the leather sofa you can't see any of it at all, just wipe it once and it's gone....

I am not the biggest fan of leather sofas. Especially in summer. When it’s a bit warmer, you already stick to them... There is one exception: leather armchairs and sofas in the Chesterfield style. But the rest of the ambiance also has to match.

I think leather armchairs are generally nice to look at, but I don't have any myself. In my opinion, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. First of all, it's more expensive. In winter it's cold, in summer too hot. As already mentioned, you stick to it. If you have children or pets (or are clumsy yourself), then the leather can be ruined in no time. And then you really get annoyed (see price). For these reasons, we stick with synthetic fibers. I really like my sofa with a removable fabric cover – even chocolate or red wine stains are easily removed during cleaning. And you can relax on it with children without worry. ;)

Do you have the leather sofa outside? ;)
Our living room is always similarly warm or cold thanks to the heating (+/- 2°).

Do you actually enjoy digging up old skeletons from the basement?
