Hello!
We are still at the very beginning... meaning, we first need to research what costs will come up.

We want to build in Austria/Carinthia.
And for now, I am mainly concerned about the infamous additional costs.

Questions
The property transfer tax is only to be paid for the land, or is there another charge after the house is built?

If I have seen correctly, the connection fees can be requested from the municipality.

Is a telecom connection still necessary nowadays? Everything at our place already runs via streaming/Wi-Fi...

Maybe someone can just send a list of which items need to be budgeted for and what buffer one should additionally have!
Thank you!

How exactly do you imagine the stream / the Wi-Fi coming into your house? Or did you mean cable connection for TV?

We currently do not have a landline or cable TV in our house. So only mobile phone and Wi-Fi. Therefore, I think if we build a house, we do not necessarily need a cable TV/landline connection.

Hope I have explained it clearly.

The costs for this are low, so I would still have it installed. I also have coaxial cables for a satellite dish in every room, even though I don’t have a dish ;-)

You only pay real estate transfer tax on the land. If you buy an existing property or an apartment, you pay it on the entire purchase price.

So coaxial cables can really be omitted nowadays. Years ago, I also installed them in every room during construction. Nobody needs them anymore today. Everything goes over Wi-Fi.

But I still have the satellite dish connected; sometimes the DSL also fails or is slow, and then I need the satellite system once or twice. But it only works in one room anymore.

Today I wouldn't install the cabling anymore.

Would you, for example, build the garage immediately (have it built)? Or try to keep the monthly installments relatively low and save for the garage and pay in cash? Are solid houses still "more valuable" than prefabricated houses nowadays?
