What can I expect when a house is built "turnkey" - what is your experience with this?

When a company promises that the house "is completely turnkey, so that you only need to move in your furniture" (e.g. on the homepage of a website), I actually expect the house to be "ready for occupancy," including floors, painting, fitted kitchen, etc. Am I right or could I be disappointed?

In the description, I would also expect floors and painting work to be included. The kitchen belongs to the category "furniture" for me.

You will be disappointed with the kitchen: those are furniture :) However, the construction company will lay floor coverings in all rooms and paint the walls (according to the specifications of the construction service description). Nowadays, this is only rarely offered under "turnkey". Regards Yvonne

Kitchen = furniture and is out.

Basically, I would be cautious with turnkey. I would ask for a draft of the construction specification.

Because what about the outdoor facilities? What about development costs? and and and

Such costs are generally borne by the builder, i.e., by the landowner.
