Dear house-building forum users,
we are interested in a bungalow from the 1950s. The basement is built in solid construction, but unfortunately the ground floor is made with steel band elements (i.e. a sandwich construction of steel-polystyrene-steel). Since we don’t want to live in a steel container, we are considering whether it is worth demolishing the ground floor and rebuilding it in an energy-efficient way. Maybe some of you have an idea what such a demolition or a floor (approx. 100 sqm) would cost? Or what it costs to have some kind of cost estimate made by an architect or planner? We just want to know if it would be worth it at all, or a rough sum that would come on top for the conversion, so that we can talk to the bank. Since we don’t know whether it’s worth it or if we will even get the bungalow, we don’t want to spend too much on such an “[Gutachten]”.
Many thanks for your answers!!
Sandra
