Steffi, that looks great! And if it rains inside, you can still cover the entrance.

I have already considered that one! It would have been perfect under the garden shed. Now it's more difficult; there's already something everywhere. I have regretted giving up the cellar several times, even though we have a garage extension.

An earth cellar is not intended for storing garden furniture. Only with all the concrete I am not sure if that works properly. The floor should be made of earth. At least that is how I know it. For us, the earth cellar would have to be built upwards. Somewhere on the to-do list is to use the old cellar (above ground). It was originally used for that. Or as a stable

I think it’s great. Thanks! Apples probably work there as well. The previous owner placed something like that (a covered hole) in my garden. The apple tree bears plenty of fruit and they stay fresh there. Great project!

Today I need some input.. We would like to install a temperature/humidity meter in the earth cellar. The signal should preferably be transmitted to the iPad in the house, where we want to monitor the values. Our house is about 50..60 meters away from the earth cellar. There is power in the earth cellar, which comes from our house. Does anyone have recommendations on how to solve this easily?

One suggestion would be: A WiFi-compatible measuring device, WiFi access point for the cellar. Then two powerline (LAN over the electrical cable) devices. Connect everything and then just install the app of the measuring device.

That’s exactly how we tried it. The two powerline devices (from tp-link) somehow don’t communicate with each other. At first, the connection still worked over half the length of the garden.. (not at all to the cellar). Later, the repeater only caused WiFi connection drops. We’re running out of ideas.. :(
