Water pressure gone after dishwasher installation

Hello,

I installed a dishwasher in the kitchen of our student shared apartment yesterday, and now the water pressure in the kitchen is significantly lower.

I’ll just write down everything as accurately as I can - I’m not a professional, but I have read up a bit.

In the kitchen, we have a rather "old" mixer tap with 2 rotary valves (1x hot / 1x cold) and additionally a rotary valve for an appliance connection on the faucet (can be turned about 3/4).

From the angle valves on the wall, the two pipes go up to the mixer tap and from there one connection goes back down, with the 3/4 inch thread, to which I connected the water supply for the dishwasher. I installed the drain to the designated connection on the siphon.

To avoid flooding the kitchen, I closed the "main valves." I found 3 of these in the apartment. We have one bathroom and one guest toilet.
In the bathroom, there were main valves with connected meters for hot and cold. I closed those. And in the guest toilet, the same faucet again for cold water. I also closed that.
Before I connected the dishwasher, I also turned off the angle valves in the kitchen.

After connecting the dishwasher, I opened all the taps again - first the main valves, then the angle valves.
Since the dishwasher was bought used, I ran a test cycle right away yesterday evening. (First problem was that I didn’t know at which position the appliance valve on the mixer tap is “open.”)

In any case, everything worked fine and the dishwasher is running. It’s not leaking either.
However, I just turned on the kitchen tap and noticed that both cold and hot water barely flow anymore. There is practically no pressure; the water flows very slowly.
In the bathroom, there is full pressure!
So at first, I suspected the angle valves in the kitchen, but they are fully open.
So I thought of the main valves. I let the water run in the kitchen to determine which main valve controls what.
I found that the kitchen cold water is regulated in the guest toilet, while the hot water in the bathroom is regulated together with the cold water for the bathroom.

When I let the water run and opened and closed the main valves, very dirty (black) water suddenly came out of the tap in the kitchen and also from the shower, which I ran for control.
After 1 second, the water was clean again.

So; all valves are fully open, but still hardly any water reaches the kitchen - neither hot nor cold. Changing the appliance valve position didn’t help either.

Does anyone have an idea what it could be?
I’m grateful for any tip!
I am happy to upload pictures or further info!

Best regards and many thanks in advance,

Tom

Sounds quite spontaneous that one of the main valves was somewhat corroded and got stuck in an almost closed position, so you can open the tap but the slider inside the valve does not come out. Try opening and closing all the valves several times and maybe gently pull or tap the tap. Maybe the slider will come loose and everything will work again as before.

Check if turning the water lines off and on has loosened dirt that ended up in the aerator of the kitchen faucet.
