Good evening

There is always water standing on our garage roof. In my view, the drain is incorrectly positioned.

The architect and the shell constructor say that this is normal and does not constitute a defect.

My plumber, however, sees it as problematic. He says that mold can form ...

What is your opinion or recommendation?

Show more perspectives so that even an outsider can "see" something.

Apart from the fact that I don't see a drain in the picture: if water is always standing there, it is not a matter of opinion that the drain is wrongly positioned and/or the slope is too shallow.

OK. So a defect.

From the structural engineer or from the architect?

What are the consequences?

Was a drain planned? You can see something like that in the drainage plan from the architect, at least in our case. If yes, then the architect is the one who is liable, as he also takes over the construction supervision (if it was contractually agreed).

I'll put it this way: I know many roofs that look like this in the corresponding weather and are waiting for evaporation. Nevertheless, they do what they are supposed to do: they are watertight.

Could it be that both are right? Problematic, but also normal?!

Where exactly should mold form there now?

Does the flat roof need to be planted? Then it does not matter.
