I would have integrated the wardrobe into the bedroom, but my wife didn't want that. In hindsight, I also think it's good - because there is more space that way, and the bedroom is simply a bedroom.

We buy our closets in the dressing room without doors. Since we have the Pax system from Ikea, you can always retrofit later.
Exactly. We have Pax for the wardrobe and coat rack. The great thing is, you can experiment, exchange, retrofit.. accessories are readily available and inexpensive. For me, there is nothing better.
Edit: : Rustic oak parquet, brushed and oiled. I would have to check the manufacturer, but it was relatively inexpensive.
