hello dear ones,

finally we are back in the planning phase. A plot of land is reserved.
It is going to be a country house with approximately 180 m2.
We are really still at the very beginning with the wall construction.
The first proposal was 17.5 Poroton plus insulation.
I think that is the cheapest construction method.
From what I have read now, you should not build like that.
What wall construction do you have and why?
Which KfW standard have you achieved with it?
How satisfied are you with it?
Of course, I am also interested in the experiences with walls insulated with Styropor.
Thank you Xinette

36.5cm T10 + interior plaster + exterior plaster. According to the Energy Saving Ordinance, just before Kfw 70 (we have a gas condensing boiler). I don't want to wrap myself in plastic.

But that helps you little, because several other factors also come into play. The house also includes the roof and the windows.

I have 17.5cm aerated concrete, 12cm mineral wool, 2cm air, and then another 11.5cm clinker. The basement is an estimated 30cm concrete (pressure water-tight construction) with 12cm insulation on the outside. I officially have KFW 70, even though the house with geothermal heat pump, central controlled residential ventilation is well below that.

42.5 Liapor + (mineral) exterior plaster.

Why "should one not build with ETICS"?
All a matter of taste...

36 T9 Poroton without ETICS. Ground slab insulated. KFW 70 easily achieved, not far from KFW 55. Why did we build like this? Poroton is recyclable, Styrofoam is hazardous waste. Do you really want to live in hazardous waste? Ok, this thought was secondary; for us, the decisive factor was that good bricks also protect against heat in summer, but Styrofoam does not. For our house, there was no price difference.
