Really cool modding idea, I like it!
Does anyone have experience with Plexiglas and can tell me how to make it a bit more resistant to scratches or alternatively a bit matte so you don’t see every scratch immediately?
I wouldn’t use Plexiglas at all because of the susceptibility to scratches.
How about glass instead?
For example one from a picture frame, they are often already anti-reflective or somewhat matte on one side.
Or just ask nicely at the glazier if he can cut a leftover piece to size for a coffee fund donation.
For mounting, then also use an aluminum panel.
Still to do:
- buy a large drill bit to drill a hole for the VGA cable
Instead of a huge hole, I’d try something else:
Either a rectangular cutout or an elongated cutout with rounded corners.
So drill two holes with a Forstner bit (15 or 20mm should be enough) so that the connector fits through. Then cut away the remaining strip with a cutter.
