Hello,

I have been searching for many many hours on the internet for several days now and just can't make sense of it. Everything is very confusing, there are no independent test reports and the information is partly contradictory or outdated. Therefore, I would be very grateful for your experiences and advice!

I want a video door intercom system for a new build, my requirements:
- 2 video doorbell stations surface-mounted (outside on the fence and another one next to the front door)
- Installation via network cable with POE
- Video station in the living room
- Transmission to smartphone via WLAN in the house
- Cloud option, i.e. being able to see on the smartphone who is ringing when away and talk to them. Should be possible without or with affordable subscription costs
- Network is set up with Unifi Ubiquiti devices, no proper smart home or bus system is planned at the moment
- The front door has no electric opener, so the intercom system is only for viewing and speaking, not for opening. RFID reader etc. therefore not necessary.

What I have found, along with my (perhaps wrong) impressions:

2N IP Base:
- apparently a good manufacturer, high quality and security
- apparently well integrable into the network?
- few information available
- high price for the cloud service? I read something about 2 euros per device per month, which would be extortionate

Doorbird (current favorite):
- mixed reviews on quality (what can you report)?
- compatibility with various standards, open interfaces
- cloud service seems free, is that correct?

Amazon Ring / Google Nest:
- I don’t like the design
- somehow ruled out because of my surveillance paranoia

Gira / Siedle / Busch Jäger Welcome:
- very chic
- very expensive
- extra charge again for cloud services?
- better just spend the money right away to get something decent?

The various China offers are also out of the question.

What would you recommend given my requirements? Can I risk Doorbird? Or better go straight for a high-end system from 2N / Gira / Siedle / Busch Jäger?

I would also throw Mobotix and Goliath into the mix.

Oh, right, I completely forgot central requirements like sound and video quality, even at night and with a smartphone.

: Thanks. Which provider would be your favorite based on my requirements off the top of your head?

We had and will probably choose Siedle again. With the gateway, the ringing can be forwarded to the mobile phone, with VPN even when you are on the go.
