Exactly! Anyone who wants to do something for the environment can certainly do so, but financially it is not interesting. Moreover, it would be more ecologically sensible to store it in the cistern to water the garden, as it then does not end up in the sewage treatment plant. However, it is much more environmentally conscious to reduce water consumption sensibly.
But you are aware that saving water does not only have advantages? The entire piping system and sewage treatment plants are designed for far more water demand than actually flows through now. In some cases, it apparently must be flushed with extra water because not enough flows through the pipes anymore. This also means the more that is saved, the more expensive water becomes per cubic meter. Although individuals may pay less sewage charges, the total cost becomes higher.
