Hello,
I’m new here and not quite sure if I’m in the right part of the forum.
We live in a house from 1954. The house has been regularly renovated and updated; the fictitious year of construction is 2009. Due to renovations by the previous owners, there is no heating directly in the open kitchen. The fitted kitchen also does not allow for subsequent installation for us. That’s why we had the idea to provide the missing heat on the exterior wall and in the kitchen with an infrared heater that simultaneously functions as a "splash guard" at the stove. As a device, we have chosen the following: VASNER Citara T Infrared Panel Heater 700 Watt
Now I am wondering about the installation. Vasner states that at least 10cm of distance must be kept on all sides during installation. That would not work with the extractor hood and the countertop. Since the extractor hood is completely made of metal, I don’t see a problem there. However, the countertop is not made of metal. Therefore, I have thought of two possible solutions and would like to have your opinions on them:
1. Raise the extractor hood by 20cm, which will affect its function.
2. Cover the "contact area!", about 7cm from the wall to the induction cooktop, with metal to "catch" the heat.
Since the heater is mainly supposed to serve the function of mold prevention, it will not heat continuously but only turn on as soon as the temperature on the wall falls below 16 degrees. This will be controlled via a Fritz! socket.
These are my ideas. I look forward to constructive suggestions.
Best regards
