Question to all experienced home builders or professionals
I have a question regarding rainwater harvesting and hope you can help me a bit.
So, I am building on a plot with an unusually high groundwater level – about 2 meters. Discharging rainwater into the sewer is prohibited, so I have to let the water infiltrate into the ground. Actually, I would like to store the rainwater for irrigation in a cistern or pond, etc.
My question now is whether I can build some kind of combination of rainwater storage or soakaway and what something like that could look like. Can I place an open-bottom cistern in the groundwater – so that on one hand the rainwater flows into the groundwater and on the other hand I can pump up the groundwater and rainwater for watering, for example, the garden?
Thanks in advance for your help, and I wish you continued fun building!
