Hello liege community, I have a question about the underfloor heating. We moved into our new build (Viebrockhaus) about 6 months ago. We have had trouble with the heating system from the beginning and I am trying to sort this out with Viebrockhaus as well, but I am not satisfied with their response. At first, the display in the underfloor heating was clear. Over time, the content in the underfloor heating has darkened significantly. So far, I have not found any such images on the internet. VBH naturally says that this is fine. Can someone tell me something about this? In my opinion, this shouldn’t be the case, right? Thank you in advance.

Google search underfloor heating flow meter brown/discolored. You will find results. It can have many causes. Impossible to determine from here.

Apparently, someone just casually filled the pipes with tap water. Properly, one uses deionized water and flushes beforehand.

Hello Nordanney, yes, that's correct, we had a defective pipe to one of the heating circuit distributors during the construction phase. Shortly before moving in, an installer who was commissioned by Viebrockhaus was on site and, because the system was presumably not properly vented (shut-off valves were closed), connected a hose to our water supply and filled it. If I understand you correctly, this is not the proper procedure. Could this then lead to any problems with the underfloor heating? Since the water is then not fully desalinated.

Whether this is caused by any minerals, salts, algae, or anything else, I cannot assess. Nor whether it will eventually lead to problems. For that, I am too much of a "layman" myself and do not know what flows in your pipes. BUT: This should definitely be fixed. You should not be fobbed off with "it's not serious."

Let the system flush and refill with VE water. The water will always get a bit darker, just because of the pumps.
