That will only become clear now (whether they start from performance phase 4 or just build). I find some everywhere, and am dealing with many for the first time. I find them as systematic as I look for them, but not so parametric that I could just quickly explain the recipe for everyone to do it themselves. It is work, not magic. If you already found two, you probably don’t need me for that (but then possibly in the preliminary design phase). Early notification doesn't hurt; I also have lead times.

Above all, the correct information stage. For example, a completed design planning and then a consultation with an architect. Yes, there are a few constructive aspects to consider in timber construction, especially in certain load cases like pressing water, etc. But if everything is done correctly, there is no reason to doubt that a wooden house can also stand for a hundred years. Half-timbered houses are basically wooden houses... Conversely, constantly accumulating moisture also damages stones – the crumbly bricks of today all the more. Don't get me wrong, I built with Poroton and would also build a new one with stone (but also with wood if it were advised for some reason), but I have no quasi-religious conviction in this regard. Regarding scientific analysis, I cannot provide anything offhand. I suspect that expert committees might have such data. Edit: There seem to be studies by TU Braunschweig and the University of Leipzig on the topic.

I have to disagree: I expressly recommend setting the course during the resting phase between the preliminary design and the design planning (provided that it has not already become clear by then that construction method H or S is clearly more suitable for the respective design). Splitting service phase 3 into two tracks would be just as senselessly luxurious as a double (architect and general contractor) service phase 4.

Sorry, that's what I meant: completed VOR draft.

May I ask which construction company you decided on? We are currently also searching in the Stuttgart area and have among others Köhler in close consideration. Best regards

We decided on Uhaus. In terms of price, it was within our budget; Fermo was expensive and didn't really meet our requirements. With Uhaus, we were able to design our floor plan completely by ourselves. We are currently at the stage of the foundation slab for the basement, so the drafts, budget, etc. are finished and we are currently selecting materials. The standard program is mid-range, I would say, so if you place value on a few extras/luxury elements, you should add 10-15% buffer to the offer from Uhaus.
