Hello,
I have the Framtid with a ceramic hob.
I now want to place such a stove cover plate on it for protection. But as soon as something is placed on the stove, it starts beeping and does not stop.
Is it possible to turn this off???
Thank you very much and best regards

Hi,

have you ever wondered why the cooktop beeps?

first of all: Framtid OV9 is the oven NOT the cooktop! But whatever...

Ikea is a company that cares deeply about the safety of its customers. The beeping is a safety feature of the cooktops. This is to prevent anything from being placed on it and accidentally turned on. You can probably imagine what would happen then. Therefore, even if it were possible, the beeping should NEVER be turned off. If you absolutely need to put a stove cover on, those things usually have rubber feet on the outer corners that do not come into contact with the cooking zones. Then nothing beeps. So check the plates to see if such a foot is resting on something and then move or remove it.

Thank you for the answer, I bought it completely, therefore only the one name. There are no rubber feet above the cooktop (so where it gets hot), that is clear. But it still beeps. What does this have to do with safety??? Can it be turned off somehow, I don't need it. Thank you

The cover plates should have rubber feet so that the plate does not touch the control. Safety alone is not the reason for the beeping. If something lies on the control panel that changes the capacity, the cooktop thinks it is to be operated but does not receive clear signals and becomes confused. Then it just screams ouch. This is not a special feature of ikea cooktops with touch control. However, you can prevent the beeping by turning off the fuses before placing anything on the cooktop.

The rubber feet alone do not do the trick. They must not rest on the control buttons or on the cooking zones themselves. The rest of the surface has no sensors, so the feet can stand on that.

IKEA expert, I don't fully agree with your answer but whatever, that's not what this is about. The fact is, you cannot manually turn off the beeping. Possibly through the manufacturer, although I'm sure that would void the warranty. For insurance reasons.

Well.
