There hasn’t been much observation added in the last half year. You could have observed it everywhere this year now, since every property has a northern part.
Additionally, the north garden serves as a screened-off area from the street lying to the south and at least in the high summer there is proper shade here.

In high summer there is hardly any proper shade.
In the mornings and evenings the sun reaches it and the house is not a skyscraper that shadows the entire garden.
In high summer there is no shade around noon and around that time in the north.
Shade would be in the morning in the west and in the afternoon in the east.
I heard that an even distribution of the garden is not ideal because then I don’t have a main garden but only two smaller ones.

The opinions here don’t change just because you now have an architect instead of a general contractor – the property has stayed the same. And south is still where it was in January 2020.
