I see that a little differently. The mother wants to give the land to the daughter, the daughter! She is supposed to compensate the other daughter for it. The son-in-law is out of the picture. It's as if he married a woman who simply has land. She has it, he doesn't. Karsten

And what do you see differently there? You see it just like most people here and as Casper has clearly stated, also the case law. In my opinion, a land register entry will not change anything: within a certain period, it is not an accrual, so in the event of a possible divorce, the woman must keep the property (land register only in her name), or 100% of the value (both in the land register), and only then is the accrual shared.

And is he involved in the financing? Or what? Is that also done at the kitchen table???

In any case, the two of them (i.e., the OP and his wife) should get proper advice. There are still several pitfalls to consider (especially if only something was agreed upon at the kitchen table; the inheritance case happens at some point and the sisters no longer get along so well).

Well, maybe you’re not entirely wrong. I don’t want to be stubborn about it. It was similar in my wife’s family. Farm, many many hectares, they have a son. Daughters get money. Paper signed by the father-in-law stating that they will no longer claim the hectares. He has been dead for a long time, but the pact has held. We men are completely out of the women’s affairs. Ooo the beautiful many hectares, smile. Karsten

Isn't there anything of approximately equal value that the other daughter could receive? For example, [das Haus der Oma]?

At the notary (or lawyer), only what has been agreed upon together beforehand at the kitchen table is sealed. At least, that's how it looks in my ideal vision. Often, however, it's different one way or another.
