Aren't these cantilever umbrellas generally sensitive to wind and then sway a lot?

Yes, they are not perfect. But I don't want to invest more money than the approximately €100 for this (with the exception of the Monday screw) quite nice cheap umbrella, since this is only supposed to be a temporary solution anyway. In the long term, we want to cover the terrace in 2-3 years. Thank you very much :) I can work with that. I would first have to buy such drills, hopefully they don't cost the earth. Unfortunately, I don't have a caliper either. The thing with the glue is an interesting idea. Of course, it's a bit hacky, but what would speak against it? Is there a case when you would want to remove the screw again? Otherwise, "forever" sounds good for now. :P

If you use nail polish, you can get the screw off again. If you then also use a screw with a hex head or Torx, you can apply more force when screwing it on.

So you would use a different screw than the one that came with it?
Would you be able to get something like that at the hardware store? I don't have one like that at home; it has a really strange thin thread.
With my layman's eye, I had assumed that the screw isn't the problem, but rather the thread. The neighbor said something about a "chip" causing it to be broken, but I didn't really understand what he meant.
