Dear people: No! The celebration is traditionally important and is unfortunately less celebrated or turned into "some kind of party." The celebration unites builders and owners and gives the house a soul --- so they say! It simply belongs and is also good, old craftsmanship goodwill! This is primarily about tradition! The thing with "the bills" seems to be more of a Western tradition.

You are basically right. Often it is also crews performing trades and not "the craftsman". Nevertheless, this celebration has a value for "us". Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they prefer to post a toast! I like the classic traditions!!!!

Nonsense. Neither are the craftsmen eager for it, nor is this tradition current. In many cases it is no longer carried out. We did it, it was nice. But it really is not a must.

But not the employee and not the employer either - those times are long gone. Good morning

, I have no idea what kind of construction companies you have. I build about 8 to 10 houses a year and so far every one has had a topping-out ceremony. And of course it is not a must. I only said that it is a nice tradition.

Anyone who holds a topping-out ceremony in these times deserves to be punished! That would simply be stupid and irresponsible. Tradition or not...
