In the attic apartment of my parents with approximately 45° roof pitch, the windows were often covered with snow in winter to the extent that it was dark anyway. On the sides where there was no snow guard fence or on the south side, pushing the snow down was often still possible, but on the other sides it was a real exertion. With a 25° roof pitch, I imagine it to be even more extreme.

We have recently installed Fakro windows. Good quality. Triple glazing on the smaller ones and double glazing on the larger ones, as these are only available as double glazed for weight reasons. The triple glazing does make a difference. We have shutters. In winter, they sometimes freeze. But that is not a problem.

Have a 40° pitch. Installed were Roto windows with double glazing. Even the largest window 1300x1400 has no problems with operation. Accessories are excellent. Have external blinds (100% blackout) on all windows and additionally internal blinds for aesthetics. The electric external blinds are mounted directly on the frame and the windows can be opened even with the blind closed (this is not possible with Velux). The two pivot windows even received insect blinds which are 100% custom fit.

Is there actually a kind of "frame heating" to prevent freezing, or would that rather be PvS (casting pearls before swine) and thus nonsense?

Frames, especially older ones made of aluminum, were thermal bridges. Today, if it is very cold, you get condensation on the window at the corners. Exterior blinds help here. According to the manufacturer, even radiators under the windows are recommended  Rather pointless if an underfloor heating system is installed.
