As an online retailer, I'm blowing my horn loudly. The generation of the [Tante Emma Laden] in small towns should by now slowly be extinct. For those who still haven't understood: We have the Internet now! In theory, anyone can work and live wherever they want, whenever they want. With my small business, I've rented space in the small town among many vacant shops. Well, I don't care about walk-in customers. And so I'm considering buying one of these renovation-needing old shacks to set up a proper store there now. Just for fun. The actual sales happen online. But I don't want to live here - far too cramped and ugly. I'm glad about my new building in the countryside with a garden and a lake behind the house.

I can no longer listen to the whining about city apartments to some extent. When will people realize that as a single mother working as a hairdresser, I simply cannot live in a loft apartment in the city center? Yes, the city is expensive, and yes, you can only live there if I can afford it. Grandma this and grandma that – that's life. Low earners live on the outskirts or outside.
