Hello everyone,

can someone tell me if there is a general tolerance for windows? Not the rough opening.

Specifically, I am concerned about the squareness. I have a lift-and-slide element made of plastic, where the vertical frame is not at a right angle. This becomes very noticeable when the door is open. At the bottom, the glass disappears behind the fixed element, at the top I have almost 3 cm of visibility.
Is this a defect? Or do I have to accept it?

Thank you very much and best regards

Maybe it's "only" 2 cm. but that's too much?

Yes, it looks stupid, but if everything seals tightly, it is probably an insignificant defect. I mean 2cm over 2m (and that's probably even more, right?) is then only about 1% deviation... Annoying, but I don't think you'll achieve much with that...

Is the window crooked or the frame?

2 or 3 cm with the window closed are then never tight?

I also think it’s so crooked that it could already be intentional: is the reveal so crooked that the window measurer deliberately passed it on like that, preferring to fit the frame to the reveal rather than conspicuously compensate with a wedge-shaped trim?
