As already mentioned, the final price essentially consists of two components: as long as the material price and installation price are indicated transparently, you have a solid basis for calculation. Also keep an eye out for items like baseboards, finishing strips, etc., as these small things can also cause trouble.

Please keep in mind:
Not only does the material price increase with larger tile surfaces compared to the original offer, but usually the installation effort as well.

We were at the tile exhibition and had the tiles for the respective areas shown to us without additional charge and had our favorites optionally offered as alternatives if we didn’t like them. Thanks to realistic base prices, the extra effort remained manageable.

From my own - rather bitter - experience, the installation price is much more relevant than the square meter price, especially with modern, larger tiles. If it’s only about 1-2 bathrooms, the square meter price hardly plays a role. But for us, 60x60 (and a few 60x120) tiles were very expensive to install. To me, this is still incomprehensible, but that’s how the industry works.

For us, "actually" as well. However, I negotiated with the general contractor that 60x60 would be installed at no additional cost. You just have to know that first and even come up with the idea that installation is more expensive. You know it by the second house.

With us, the sqm 60x60 costs 10 euros more for installation - I think that's pretty fair. You just have to ask beforehand.

10€ per square meter?!

For us, 60x60cm was COST NEUTRAL...

Nice for you I have also read about 25 euros here... So: 10 euros is about right. The tile itself was allowed to cost 40 euros for that.
