Tiles on concrete?

I am currently building a basement.
The floor slab is about to be created. So far, so good.
When the basement is finished, I might possibly lay tiles. Since I am reluctant to sacrifice several centimeters for screed, my question is: Can I glue the tiles directly onto the screed? Good flexible adhesive is understood.
Any other obstacles? How smooth does the concrete need to be? Are irregularities of 0.5 cm a problem?

I always notice unevenness while walking with my toes when I catch on it :-) and 5mm is already a small amount.

What you should also consider is the sound insulation, everything that happens on the tiles is transferred to the masonry.

Otherwise, prime and lay the tiles.

The 5mm is the feared unevenness in the concrete slab. I want to save myself the leveling compound. It's not exactly cheap. I plan to even out the unevenness with the tile adhesive. If a large hole has formed there, I want to repair it with tile adhesive. While laying tiles.
