Tiles in the living area - baseboards made of tiles or wood?

for example, we took our "tile package" out of the house construction and had it done by a local tiler. This way, we could choose the tiles and baseboards ourselves and paid half the price compared to the builder.

We could choose the tiles and baseboards ourselves, but we are building "turnkey" in the sense that the tiler, plumber, electrician, etc. are commissioned by the house construction company. We had concerns about not being able to get craftsmen in these times or since we have only recently been living in this region and do not have personal contacts here. Of course, we knew it would cost more, but for us, it was/has been less stressful.

We were also free to choose the materials. A specific tile package was included in the house price. The craftsmen from the house building company were commissioned for this. We couldn't choose them either, but they all came from the region. Only special requests, such as covering additional rooms with tiles or other surfaces, would have gone beyond the scope. So we removed this service and brought local craftsmen on board. Of course, this was only possible after the house handover. ;)

I don't like tile baseboards anymore… Even in the bathroom, we have white wooden skirting boards. We also have the same skirting boards with our floorboards.

We also have white skirting boards for 120x30 wood-look tiles. It matches the "parquet fake" very well. And tile skirtings themselves we find extremely sterile, especially in living rooms they are out of the question. That is something for the bathroom or laundry room.
