HI,

I was with my site manager yesterday evening and went through the construction description with him. He told me the following about the tiles.

- There are tiles priced at 5-10 euros per sqm but they are only suitable for walls at most

- Floor tiles should cost at least 20 euros per sqm and up

- If you plan to lay granite tiles (very expensive), do a scratch test first ^^

- Tiles have abrasion classes, pay attention to that

Best regards

How much are you allowed to spend per square meter for the tiles without an additional charge?

Hello,

for a good tiler, you should expect to pay at least €28 net per square meter just for the installation.

Why good and bad? Because the master craftsman requirement in this trade has been abolished. This means that any fool can offer these services, but due to lack of expertise, they install thermal bridges, don’t prime, don’t seal, etc., and immediately. In the best case, they simply deregister their business, and your warranty is void. So it’s best to turn to a specialized company. You can negotiate with anyone, but especially in this industry: if you save on the installer, you pay twice.

Regards Silvio

Hello,

I would like to share my perspective as a self-employed tiler with 17 years of professional experience.

Generally, the costs are lower if you accept the offer from the house construction company.
This is due to the overall calculation of the developer and the price shifts within the executing trades.
I do not know any craftsman who is happy with the situation when providing his services for a client under the brand [Haus-Komplettbau], as there is not much money to be made there.
Quality usually suffers from a lack of motivation because of this. ([Euros])
Especially the craftsmen in the finishing department, such as painters, tilers, window-door and staircase builders suffer from this, as their work determines the final appearance for the customer.

For this reason, price and performance should be weighed carefully.
A separate tiler (provided they are a specialist company) will ultimately cost a bit more, but in my opinion will also deliver a more satisfactory service.

Regards, Dirk
