Tile base in the wet area suddenly not up to standard

Hello,

we recently had our tile sampling, and now the following text is stated in the construction service description that we signed:

In fact, in the sampling offer, tile skirting in the wet areas WC/bath/shower, on walls without additional wall tiles, is listed separately as an extra charge. Upon our inquiry, we were told that tile skirting on un-tiled walls is standard only in living areas, but not in the wet rooms.

However, I do not see anything about this in the construction service description, and that is binding, right? This detail is also not mentioned in the contract or in the house offer. How do you interpret this situation now? Such things should actually be documented in writing if specific rooms are excluded, shouldn’t they?

Next steps?

Thank you very much in advance!

Just for understanding: You have a bathroom where the wall is not tiled?

Yes, why? It's not necessary for all walls to be tiled, is it? Nowadays, hardly anyone tiles the entire room. But that's not what this is about anyway.

Welcome to harsh reality. It is written for you: ... and on the walls intended for wallpapering.... wallpaper is typically not applied in the bathroom. When building a second house, you then know quite precisely what exactly should be included in the construction specification. It is partly the same for me. Subsequent rip-offs with additional charges everywhere. Further procedure: Check off this point. In the future, demand at least the few things that are explicitly listed in the construction specification exactly as they are written there. You don't necessarily get that voluntarily either... Keep your head up and carry on!

Wait, but we have walls in these rooms that are intended for wallpapering. What else are they supposed to be? Raw drywall walls? On un-tiled walls, Q3 is filled with painter's fleece wallpaper and painted.....So for me, that is a wall intended for wallpapering.

If I were ruthless now, I could say they should continue a row of wall tiles on the floor. They are included in the contract for work....haha
