Hello,

we are having some trouble fitting the four wooden panels into the frame (that is into the "L"). It seems that there is too much injection molding. In any case, the frame alone (without the panels) fits together. With the panels, there is already a problem with the first panel, which gets worse with each additional panel. The short side of the second "L" of the frame can no longer be properly attached.

I have read that one should remove some injection molding. Really? How much? With what? If I should have this done by IKEA installers, will that cost me something? After all, I assume that one can assemble an IKEA piece of furniture alone (with normal craftsmanship and the instructions).

Best regards
S

The installers from IKEA are not from IKEA but from an external company and they want money... Furthermore, they do not modify doors, they only assemble them and if they don't fit, they stop the installation and say product defect.

So, that doesn't help.

The simplest:

Take defective parts to IKEA and exchange them.

But:
Could it be that you confused the side parts or the bottom / top parts? Just swap them if there is no labeling on the rails.

Hello,

I managed to put it together reasonably well yesterday after all.
You probably have to work twice as precisely as usual...
Also, contrary to the instructions, I didn't tighten the screws at the corner of the first "L". This way there was some play at the corner. I did the same at the other corners and was able to connect the four corners; with some pressure I could then bring some screws into the right holes. Now only the screws need to be tightened. The most important thing is probably that the four wooden panels stand perpendicular to the long slat.

I do have the feeling that it's a bit tight now but that way the door will also hold if the wood of the panels shrinks a bit. And nothing will certainly fall out that way.

Hopefully it works. I'll get back to you when it's finished or if I notice anything else :)

Best regards
S

Hello,

the wardrobe is now standing.
The carcass with the stuff around it was easy. For the next wardrobe, I would pay even more attention to making sure the top rail is positioned so that the hung door on the more visible side (if there is one) can really be pushed far enough to that side and close flush with the carcass wall. For me, there is now a 1/4 cm offset there.

The doors fit well with the described small deviations.
At least the door panels no longer stick out at you...

Best regards
S
