Terrace roofing semi-detached house half / permission

Hello dear people

We have now moved into our newly built semi-detached house.
Now we are planning our garden and terrace.
With the terrace planning, we have a small problem with the roofing.
We cannot maintain the minimum distance of 3 meters to our neighbor.
Our half is only 7 meters wide.
So we will not be able to avoid getting approval.
I have read several times that the neighbor must agree.
That is unimaginable with our neighbor.
We really had massive problems with him.

If you live in a semi-detached house, then the same stands on the property boundary, which is the special feature of the semi-detached house. So unless your terrace roof is outside of a (special) building window, I would be surprised about a requirement for approval, but IANAL.

Too bad, OP did not provide any size information. Well, 7m wide. Then the roof would have to be more than 4m deep to require approval - unlikely. So we assume it is exempt from approval. But is it permitted?
