Hello everyone,

please take a look at the pictures of our city villa attached.

We are currently very, very satisfied, but we are not yet 100% sure about our terrace roofing.

The roofing has a depth of 2.5m and looks visually absolutely fantastic, of course.

However, we are still a bit uncertain about the light incidence:

- Does the roofing absorb too much light, making our living/dining area too dark?
- Both large floor-to-ceiling elements are completely "covered"

What do you think? What alternatives are there?

We are incredibly enthusiastic about such a corner roofing, but the light incidence could be a problem, or maybe not?

The thing is so narrow that if you sit outside at the table, you are still fully in the sun. But inside, you won't have any light in winter. No matter how nice it is, a proper roof with [Sonnensegel] is worth more and probably costs half as much.

What do you mean by "proper roof?"

Also something around the corner? Only on the south side? Concrete roof or just an aluminum roof or something?

Looks nice, but it's useless. You can see in the picture where the chairs are in the shade. Actually, none really. Weather protection is just as sparse if you want to put furniture underneath and still use the terrace despite light summer rain. Inside, it will probably block little sun, but this "roofing" makes no sense at all apart from the appearance.

I can't follow that argument... If the overhang is so short that it doesn't provide shading in summer, why would that thing block the light in winter? After all, the sun is significantly lower then.

Just calculate the angles.

2 meters of overhang in summer are not enough for a table in the shade. But for winter, it is enough for the room to appear darker.
