We have also had a glass roof with an under-roof awning for a few years. In summer, we almost always have the under-roof awning out, so that both the terrace slabs and the living room behind do not heat up as much. Besides the temperature advantage, of course you don’t see the dirt, because pollen, leaves, bird droppings, etc. always fall on the glass, and if it doesn’t rain for a long time, nothing washes it down. Twice a year we have the window cleaner come to clean from above and below, and if it gets very dirty, I also climb up from time to time armed with a hose and cleaning tools and clean it from above. That goes quite quickly with the large panes, and at the same time the drainage channel is cleared. We saw the louvered roofs at a trade fair. I found it very unsettling to sit underneath, and the panes were quite small relative to the louvers, so that very little brightness would probably come through. Also, I imagine it would be terrible to keep those things clean.

Thank you very much for the reports and the opinions against such louvered roofs, they have definitely given me/us something to think about. Unfortunately, I have not gotten any closer to my original question at all. Does no one here have such a louvered roof and will share their experience with me?

I don't have one, but the size you want is already quite decent. I don't find 20 K exorbitantly expensive. Yes, the prices are really outrageous, but at least I haven't found any significantly cheaper manufacturer so far. Maybe there will be a discount of a few percentage points in winter.

Please also consider that beyond certain sizes, the entire thing requires approval. With us, for terrace roofs deeper than 3m, a construction notification/application had to be submitted.

For your information. Stay away from cheap manufacturers. The louvered roofs work, if at all, for 1 year. Better pay more for branded products and pay attention to the warranty. Warema gives 5 years. The Italian and Polish ones advertise this, but after 2 years no one comes out to repair it. The German installation company refers to the 2-year warranty according to the law. The repair costs are not reimbursed to the German installation company by manufacturers like Pratic Italy and so on. I had very bad experiences. And several companies told me that Pratic from Italy gives no goodwill whatsoever after the 2 years. The company installing mine has removed the entire range from their program after so much trouble with the manufacturer. Also think about the right of withdrawal and the place of jurisdiction. It is, namely, in Italy. So only products from a manufacturer with a GmbH in Germany. You also don’t buy your car for €25,000 in Bulgaria.
