Terrace door is not the same as a window, right?

I can totally understand that. As a layperson, you naturally assume a floor-level threshold is almost invisible. It's a pity that at these points neither the construction company nor the window manufacturer points out the options. I only discovered it by chance when carefully going through the offer (alongside some other things that were incorrect). The pitfalls are really everywhere in construction, especially for the layperson. That's what you are there for then ;-)

Thank you for your understanding of our "inability". We constantly talked everywhere (during the consultation, with the seller, with the sample provider, etc.) about having a surrounding terrace and wanting to step level from every room on the ground floor into the garden. No one pointed this out to us and we did not explicitly ask.

I only came across it by chance when going through the offer carefully (along with some other things that are not right). Scams are really lurking everywhere in construction, especially for construction laymen. That's what you're there for then ;-)

In our execution drawings, the terrace exits are drawn as "floor-to-ceiling." You only see at the end, when the screed + floor is in place, how much space still needs to be overcome. The crucial detail can then only be seen in the sectional view, that there is still a threshold shown here - but not dimensioned -.

I cannot confirm that. During our consultation/sample selection, we were guided around and shown all window and door variants on practical models. So we knew exactly what we were getting. It certainly depends a lot on the company.

We had (almost) throughout the entire ground floor expensive floor-to-ceiling windows installed so that we could step out onto the surrounding terrace/into the garden from every room without any height increase. For us as laypeople, "floor-to-ceiling" meant "as deep as the floor" ... wrong and one of our biggest mistakes. Our floor-to-ceiling patio doors are now about 6-7 centimeters above the floor. :-(

You are not the only ones. Same with us. We have been trying to resolve this whole drama with the floor-to-ceiling design with our construction company for months.

With flat doors, mushroom cams are not possible.
